s10 / Camaro Backspacing

I am selling my s10 and buying a camaro, I of course want to keep my beutiful polished wheels and put them on the camaro, but I remember ordering an s10 backspacing when I ordered the wheels. Does anyone know the different backspacings? If so, will I be able to put these 17x8.5 wrapped in 235/45/17s on the camaro? Thanks in advance for any help I can get.

They will probably stick out. S10's have less backspacing, camaro wheels are very deep. I had some 17" wheels from my camaro and put them on my s10 when I got 18's (now have 20's) a long time ago. I had to get 1 inch spacers in the back to make it happen. So I would think an s10 wheel would be pushed further out. Both have same lug pattern, so that is a plus. You might be a$$ed out on this one, though.

What generation of Camaro are you buying? This makes a big difference as to whether they will fit or not.

Early (pre-4th gen) f-bodies had about the same backspacing and bolt pattern as your S10, so if that what you're getting, you'll be fine. If you're getting a 93+ F-body, the wheels will probably stick out 2" more than normal. If they are skinny 8" wide wheels, they might still be inside the fenders. If they're wider (9-11"), it'll probably stick out too much.
