Polished fins of intake manifold, how to get rid of pits?
I've been trying to polish the fins on my intake manifold, i got it looking decent, went from a 60,150, 220,300,400,600,800, 1000 grit. I was using a black & decker flat sander going back and forth with it. After that i got the new dremel i bought, put the polising wheel on and made it look decent (i wanted mirror, dont know what i did wrong). I have small pits all over the fins, why? how do i get rid of them? Any ideas, comments, or suggestions welcomed.

If you are tired of scrubbing at them, you can stick a chrome decal on there

Your prob right with the air bubbles thing, ack....what is the PROPER step do doing this? thank god this was a spare intake manifold....I am gonna get my REAL intake manifold back from the powder coater (making it a metallic green). What are the steps, how do I do it, and MORE importantly, HOW LONG DO I HOLD THAT SANDER ON THERE GOING BACK AND FORTH :-D I have the following items:
60,180,220,400,600,800,1000,1500,2000 grit sand paper
Black & Decker eletric flat sander (used those rectangle sand paper pieces)
BRAND NEW dremel with all the fixings
Never Dull
Blue Magic Metal Polish
Spray bottle w/ water
I know i have all the right stuff, just tell me what I have to do, the steps, and how long, and weather or not to use water haha....

I just did mine like 2 weeks ago with the DA air sander I just sanded it until it was smooth & the little ridges were gone , then wet sanded & polished came out perfect !

with the 60 grit you most likely took off too much material. he roughest you should use is 220. Just sand as much as needed to get the machined marks out.

ok ill start with 220 or 300, should i be sprayign water on it as I sand with my machine? on my REAL intake manifold i plan to do 300,400,600,800,1000,1500, and then 2000....followed by some never dull, and then polish with blue magic with a dremel...when i was playing around with it i saw that using water left less marks....good or no?
