Painting calipers, are the front harder to clean than rear?

Well I'm well into painting my calpers but when I got to the front, the wire wheel acid I used to clean the front mixed with a wire brush wouldn't get anything off. On the back I got the caliper silver but the front won't show any. Do you guys have any ideas?

On my front capliers I sanded them down to remove the flat black color from the factory and also to smooth the metal a bit it has this rough texture. I didn't get it all out but when I painted the caliper I put about 5 coats of paint on each time a little thicker. I did my calipers back in early spring and the paint looks perfect still today. I am very happy with the way it turned out.
