VHT Niteshades is what people use. I was never able to find it at any stores, but it can be purchased form some online places: http://www.car-parts-place.com/p483-...taillight.html

Shoot - use a little acetone on a rag and the stuff rub's off with no effort at all.

You can also order through O'Reilly Auto Parts if you have one close by. I paid $7.50 a can for it through them - way cheaper then buying online and shipping that I found.

Like Marky82 said - sanding will help it stick better. I used two different high grits ande wet sanded mine - the lower to scuff - the highest to be sure and clean off any little impurities or marks in the lights (bugs, tar, chipped plastic, etc.)

Or a little bit easier stuff to find, is at any crafts store that is actually for tinting little model car windows, is just simply named "Transparent Black"..and does a great job.

How dark is that stuff? Is the blinker/brake light still pretty bright?

They come out really nice and really dark...the light still comes through just fine though. Here is a pic of my paint jobs...the Tail Lights are AVS covers. And for somereason the 3rd brake light has that red stripe..its just a fluke with the picture..it is in actuality solid black.

Here

I don't know about the stuff Fallchild is talking about - but the Nite Shades is really up to you.

Just spray it on in light coats until you get the darkness you want out of it - a couple of coats is more like smoke lenses - then with 4-5 coats they are black - the more you go, the less the light.
