Ok since i cant find a painter ive decided to paint it my self.

For info on the car check out this thread http://web.camaross.com/forums/showthread.php?t=435059

After looking at several painters and there work im not satisified with there quality of work. So today i had the oppertunity to watch a car get painted and after talking to the owner he agreed to let me use one of there booths. So i think im gonna just paint it myself. I just ordered a devilbliss gravity fed gun. One of the painters is going to watch me and hes gonna help me color sand it. So i scheduled the booth for sept. 12th and i will have it till noon thenext day. So it look like this car is near completion. Wish me luck guys

Cool man, I can't wait to see the results. Let me know what painting the car was like...whether it was easy to get the hang of and all. I'm thinking about doing my paint myself too and I want to get some input from someone who's been there before.

Excellent my man, good luck!

I've painted a car before, and it's not as bad as people make it out to be.

Hey I checked out your other thread and man you've done a lot of work. Its only right that you get to put the icing on the cake! I think that color choice will look real sharp. Are you going w/ the Vette Electric blue color or the Quasar blue..or something else? I don't really know what f-body blue is..? Also are you modding the engine up too? I apologize if you have been asked these questions already but wanted to say that you have done a lot of work and I definitely respect that. Anyone who posts like War is just dealing w/ their own insecurities.... It even looks good before paint!
Keep up the good work and def show some pics when its complete.
Good luck!
:EDIT: Hey I just got done w/ the other posts....man a lightened 383 w/ a sc and NX..what kind of numbers are you expecting?? That thing is sick dude!

well hopefully it will atleast run in the low 11;s to mid 10's i have some tuning bugs to work out still but am going to wait untill its painted and take it up to carolina automasters and let them work there magic and then do my fine tuning from there. That color blue is one of my own design. me and the painter custom mixed it and i named it f body blue. i am the only person in the world with the color code. so this blue is mine lol. thanks for the props there appreciated.

Sometimes you have to take matters into your own hands lol. I know the feeling. Most important thing you can do is properly set up the spray pattern on your gun. It'll make the job a hell of a lot easier. And if the blue has a good bit of metallics or pearl go light coats, it'll help prevent "modeling."

Best of luck and I can't wait to see the finished product.

Where do you live? Now that you bought the spray gun, you need to get some use out of it. My car could use a few parts touched up .
