LT1 headlight blackouts.

Looking for some blackouts for headlights, trick is they need to have some panels on the side to secure them into the housing. I can't find any pics of them Off the car to see how they attach to the LT1s.

Any info would be great, thanks.

Not sure what you mean. But the ones I got for my 97 had three brackets that stick to the housing, double sided sticky tape, and the blackouts velcro to them.
These required no drilling.

I would need it to have sides on it for the method i would use to secure it, plus im planning a nonstandard use for them, hence the need for knowing how they connected.. thanks for that info.

Mine on my 95 attached to a fitting on the black part in front of the lights. The part required drilling and placing 2 screws on each side unfortunatly. It's hard to describe but basically the darkout cover has a flat prong on the inside that slides under the other fitting attached to the black part of your bumber in front of the lights.

Could i perchance ask you to pop your hood and get me some pics of that? remember what brand/supplier they were? they may be close to what I need.

Sorry man. I eventually decided that I didn't like the way they looked at night, and removed them. And later, got the bumper repaired and repainted over the drilled holes. I think they were by GTS. I can't remember for sure.

Thanks for the info. now to see if i can find a pic of the GTS ones, problem is they usually use a basic pic of 1 car for every model. sad way to advertise and sell a product.

You could always spray some transparent black on the headlamps. Worse comes to worse, you'd have to go to Autozone and buy 4 new ones.

I wouldn't recommend doing that to the fog lights though, they aren't easy or cheap to find or replace.

Re: LT1 headlight blackouts.

That won't work for my use. a blackout panel is required, i may have to figuire out a different attachment method for what i want to use it for if they don't come with tabs on the side anymore.
