The term "staggered" means that the lip of the wheels that go on the front have a different width than those that are on the rear. (Narrower front lip and fatter rear lip.) This is the "deep dish" look, which doesn't apply to OEM wheels.

Generally staggered just means the rear wheels are bigger than the front wheels. Example: some Corvettes and Mercedes SL series.

Staggered wheels can be all the same size.

Example:

Car has 19's all the way around. But notice how the rear wheels have a wider lip than the front?

Another example:

I have a set of HPR5 wheels that I had custom widened. The wheels were all originally the same size, same offset. I had the fronts widened to 9.5", and the rears to 11." Even though the rears are wider, they're not staggered because the lips of all 4 wheels are still equal in width.

Another example of the staggered look with AZA Z-1's:

LS1Kid717 11-07-2007 11:49 PM

im not a big fan of the dish lip... but hey to each his own

Lt1son 11-09-2007 06:44 PM

Yes i wanted ideas for deeper dish in the rear..sorry and thanks everyone

StreamlineZ28 11-10-2007 04:13 PM

both are considered staggered wheels of different size or width usually on the rear
