how do you re-align you're fenders, hood and bumper cover?
I had my bumper cover removed awhile back, and when we put the new one on, we didn't alig everything properly. Does anyone have a guide on how to do this?

Just loosen up the bolts and shimmy the parts in place, helps to have some assistance. If you have one of those $150 aftermarket bumpers, there is a chance that they won't fit up properly. I ordered one of those and it simply didn't fit right. They are typically warped and ill-fitting.

can you explain this in more detail? how thick should the shims be, etc?
I need to re-align my front end, it looks really bad, the bumper cover is depressed where one of the fenders is pushing it in.

The only real adjustment is on the fenders. On LT1's, the fender has a line of bolts along the top next to the hood. There is some slack in them, you should be able to loosen them, and move the fender up or down and re-tighten. Then re-adjust the hood, you can adjust the bump stops from the front, and if you loosten the bar that holds on the hood struts, you can shimmy the hood forward, back, left and right slightly on their bolts. A friend is required to work on the hood, and it helps to have a second hand holding the fenders. If your nose and fenders aren't lined up, you can go underneath to get to the bolts inside the nose. Remove the plastic guards under the nose, look straight up and you should see 2 bolts with a black metal plate, that holds the fender and the nose to the frame in the same spot, that has a little bit of give to shimmy around, you should be able to slightly seperate or move together the nose and fender. That will be impossible to adjust without a friend. I hope this helps, good luck. It won't be much help but here's the front of my car in pieces. http://community.webshots.com/album/39613537IsXsoN
