Angry Front end Damage

I had an idiot hit my 02' Z28 while trying to exit from a parking garage. He struck the left corner of my car, making a large dent on the fender and bumper. THe idiot had no insurance, so I am certain not to see a penny from this accident. I took the car to get an estimate on the repairs at a local GM certified bodyshop, but they quoated me a price of $1,900 for parts and labor. The Fender and Bumper would need to be replaced, but the price seemed much to high for me.

Does anyone know a body shop in the Los Angeles area that is reputable, but would not charge as high as $1,900? If anyone has any information or advice I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance....

P.S. I have the GM extended warranty. Can my dealership or warranty help deffer on the cost of parts or labor? Anyhelp would be appreciated.

shouldn't your full coverage insurance cover that?

You can sue him for the money - or just chaulk it up to a hit and run. You're deductable will go up next year though.........

Question can you say 'uninsured motorist'?!

I don't know how it is where you live, but here in GA, when you buy a new vehicle, you are required to get full coverage. That full coverage has an uninsured motorist coverage as well. Just pay your deductible and take it to the shop. My Z got vandalised. New hood, bumper, and both fenders need replacing...as well as blend time on the doors and paint on most of the rest of the car. My estimate was over $4000. So I'm thinking you probably have a pretty decent estimate there.

$1900 is cheap. I have my 2002 Tahoe in the shop... passenger door and rear quarter and that is $4800!

I had a small ding on the drivers door of my '95 Z/28 quote at $850!

Its not cheap to fix newer cars.
