Exactly how many shades of gray interior plastics are there? What about carpet?
My 93 Camaro has the light gray interior plastics and carpeting. I am strongly considering an upgrade to leather seats, darker gray interior plastics, and darker carpet. My brother also owns a 93 Camaro, and his has the dark panels and dark carpet. I believe the color is charcoal, but I could be wrong. I always thought that darker gray looked great, and I had a chance to sit in 95 Camaro equipped with leather and the darker interior panels, and I fell in love. So, interior upgrades are my next on my list (when funds allow, of course).
I have heard interior plastics referred to as light, medium, and dark gray in the past. I'd like to know exactly how many shades there really are, and what years they ran from. I'm probably going to do this piece by piece, so I want to make sure the kickpanels will match the door panels, and things like that. I think I've read that the 98-99 cars are different in some way. Any truth to this? I've heard the dark gray called charcoal, heard someone say "medium" gray, and of course there's the ebony. Same questions for the carpet.
A run down of the different colors and years would be GREAT. I appreciate any help you can provide.
Thanks!

Okay I am pretty sure all the info I am giving is correct I could be wrong. If so I am sure someone will chime in
Interior Plastic Colors for Camaros and Z28's
93-96 had Light Grey, tan, and Graphite = (Darker Grey)
97 had Tan and Med Grey possible Graphite but I do not think so
98-99 had Med Grey, Neutral (New Tan colored)
00-02 had Ebony and Neutral
Now I know the Firebirds and TA's varied from these also.....

Thanks for the speedy reply, Viper.
So, the medium gray and the graphite are actually different colors? You wouldn't happen to know how far off they are, would you?
Also, any idea on the carpet color offerings?
Thanks, I appreciate it!

For the darker grey colors here are the groupings you want to stick with for both the seats , carpet and plastic panels .
93-96 was Graphite
97-99 was medium grey . This is ALOT lighter than graphite but the darkest grey from 97-99
00-02 was ebony . This is darker than grahite . Its nearly black .
None of those colors are even similar to each other , so pick your parts wisely
Try here and do a search for what your looking for . Its a search engine for junkyards across the USA and where I found perfect 2001 leather camaro seats for $250 shipped

Actually ebony and graphite are nearly indistiguishable outside the car. So much so that the company I bought ebony panels from sent me a graphite on on accident, it was unnoticable until they were in the car.

I've got two 94's.
One has the awesome Flame Red interior. The other has the crappy two tone gray interior.
I say crappy because I bought the flame red one first, and going from flame red to the 2-tone is a real let down.
Anyways, What color is the "near black" off -shades for the flame red package? I'm guessing graphite, but if you've seen a flame red interior, it is really dark, and I'd call it black.
My other car is teal, so flame red wouldn't match, but I'm thinking about going to the darkest color possible (with lkeather of course )
[Edit: "Lkeather" = leather ]

Do these colors apply to Firebirds also? Originally I was only concerned about the Camaro options, but I've changed vehicles and I'm curious about the Firebird now
