Can you paint chrome?

I have a chrome ss grill from rk sport on my hood and I think the chrome is a little to much so I was wondering if I could just get my body shop to paint it? Do you think it would look good and how do you think it would hold up?

If its an SS billet type hood grill, sand it down with some sandpaper and shoot it with semi-gloss or flat black. Its really easy to get decent results on a small piece. Just dont go too coarse with the sand paper.

Cool thanks. Do you think I should do it in flat or gloss?

Do you want it to shine?

Don't forget the primer... good for painting bare metal.

I was also thinking of getting that hood grille, but I really didn't like it chrome.

Yeah I dont really like it either but it came with the hood. I do want it to shine but not to much like it does now just I guess a medium gloss.
