Black Ice Wheels

I just got my 18" ROH black ice wheels on...they look great. I'm wondering if there's any way to get my exhaust (aftermarket, Ravin exhaust with aluminum tips) to the "black ice" type color. Any type of chemicals I could spray on to give it a more "black ice" type appearance?

It's black chrome. Find a chrome shop that does this, and have you tips plated. There's one right near ny house that does it. Let me know if you can't find a place near you and I'll get you the #.

Hey,

Would they be able to do this with them still on the car? The tips are welded into place? Also, about how much would you expect this would cost?

Let Me Know,
Thanks,
Kevin

Hey,

I ordered the ROH RT 18" chrome wheels, and the idiots ordered the black ice finish. I got there and took a look and said "eh, these aren't chrome" - "well man, I don't think they make chrome" and gave me some big long bull**** story. I had them put the black ices on just beacuse. Looking online some more, and looking back at the situation, I think I'd prefer the chrome wheels over the black ice.

Should I go back and bitch? I think even if they won't do an exchange, I'd like a discount on the black ice (they charged me the same price). Do you think the place will send back these black ices, and get me chrome?

Kevin

KevinAce,
The cost for the black ice rims are a little bit more than the standard silver finish, but nowhere close to the cost of having the rims chromed ($120 add'l per wheel). Who did you get the rims from? They should accept them back, and get them chromed if that's what you ordered. If you like the black ice finish, keep it, and enjoy the rims Do you have any pictures of them on the car?

Damn! That freakin' sucks! I agree with Z28tt. The store you got them from should stand up and fix things...ESPECIALLY, since they told you that they weren't offered in chrome. That's BS. Be sure to tell EVERYONE where it was you got screwed!

I personally like the Black Ice over chrome. I think the chrome is a little too flashy for my tastes. And polished would be too much work, IMO.

The pics of the Black Ice don't do them justice. I have gotten a ton of compliments on the wheels in person. If you want chrome though, you should get what you want! You might even want to think about getting them chromed yourself, the cost may be about the same.

I got my wheels from www.skulte.com , by the way. They had the best pricing of anyone, local or on the net. www.groupawheels.com are really helpful too. I almost bought from them, but the price difference was to big to pass up.

Man those rims definatly look good. And they're a lot cheaper for 18s than I was expecting.

I notice the site you went through doesnt have 18's though Ernster500

I wonder if they could get them though...

I want 18x10 rear 18x9 front.

JDWheels.com has the BlackIce 18x10 for $300 18x9 for $290

To get your tips done they would most definately have to come off. They have to be dipped in these big tanks to be plated. I have no idea what it will cost.

Bawls - I just updated the page to show the 18's as well. For all the east coasters - enjoy the snow!
