This begs to question... what would you pay for #4 of 9 Hurst Firebirds?

As most of us know, there is essentially "no market" for rare 4th gens yet. And this auction proves it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=120158014051

It hasn't closed yet, but it's a depressing sight. Something that should be bringing more money than what was originally paid for it, is only getting $23.5k right now.

If any of you have deep pockets, you should pick it up. A Lingenfelter 383 engine in the first Hurst Firebird sold to the public has the potential to be very collectible I would think. Just think of how much a Hemi Cuda is bringing right now (~$400k) and think about how rare this Firebird is even compared to the Blackbirds GMMG made in 2002.

It is a shame. I really hope that whoever buys this car realizes what they have their hands on and treats it with the respect that it deserves. Nobody knew 30 years ago that the Yenko Camaros and Hemi Cudas of the day were going to be the rare collectibles that everybody would be salivating over now. Many of them ended up being wrecked or left to rot when they should have been taken care of.

I just hope that the great cars of our time don't fall victim to the same fate, though many of them already have. :( On the other hand, do you remember the other Hurst Firebird that I posted last week? These are VERY cool looking cars.

Yeah, I thought it was really weird that two of them came up on ebay at the same time. You know... considering the fact that I've never seen one before.

Gee, not a very good investment for the original owner. He only got about half of what he paid back. $25,988.88

Reserve not met, I'm guessing he's holding onto it.
