N.A.D.A. will give a better price of what the car should sell for. KBB is what dealers use to price used cars (inflated kbb quotes), then they will take trade ins for N.A.D.A or lower, since they give a lower quote.

I bought my black 96z flawless with 48,000 miles for $8,600 so you might want to talk to the guy, and be sure to deduct money for dents, scratches, tears, fading etc.

For 10 grand you could find an LS1 car with the same or lower milage.

It's worth what you are willing to pay for it. But I'd say 10 for an LT1 V8 'vert (not SS) in absolutely cherry condition with 72.5k miles might be a bit high in the current market. The LS1 cars are going to keep value a bit better, and there's no reason you couldn't find a nice 98 or 99 at that price.

IF you are going to leave it completely stock, 10k might be a reasonable price, or even up to a grand or two higher. It's pretty hard to find a truly flawless car 10 years old. On the other hand, if you're going to daily drive it, and/or mod it, (especially if you're going to do engine mods), opt for a similar or somewhat lower price on a less perfect 98, 99, or 00. Stuff happens to daily drivers, and mods are FAR more rewarding on LS1 engines.

I'm allowed to say that... I own both.

It's a little high mileage (to me) to consider it being worth more than KBB. I'd say it's probably worth at most $1000 more than what KBB would say.

If it's a private seller and you can't finance it and make payments... I'd say it is worth a great deal less. Maybe $2000 less than KBB.

KBB lets you chose what kind of value you are looking for- dealership value, private party value, and even trade in value.

For the most part, no cars make it into the "excellent" category because in order to make that category, it is supposed to have all service records. Like they say, less than 5% meet this criteria.

NADA offers a much better estimate on how much a car is worth, and even then (at least in my area) that number tends to be high.

Not everyone wants an ls1, or likes them. Personally, I wouldn't get one just b/c the front end.
