97+ red two tone interior?

I was wondering if this was a factory option with the 97+ interiors or if the guy just dyed it

I've got the same interior for my SS, it's the Flame Red option.

If you want two tone seats, you can dye them like I did on my 94.
See my signature. Let me know if you're interested and I'll give you the details on how I did it.

Hey MILESF I wanted to do something like that to my 97 formula. Can it be dyed white? Please let me know. Thanx

MILESF 09-16-2002 02:00 PM

my350f, I used a spray dye made by VHT.

Are you trying to go from dark to light? If so, I'm not sure how it will work. I went from a light grey to the red. Do you have leather? Not sure it will work on that either. I ordered my dye from Summit Racing, $7.99 a can. I used 7 full cans to do my seats.

E-mail me and I'll give you detailed instructions on what to do.

Did you have a trouble keeping the red off the black, did any seep over? And I also have a convertible and was wondering what would happen if it got wet or someone was wet and sat in the seat? Would any go onto their clothing? And one last question, I have a tan interior could I dye that Black and Red or do you think the red wouldn't look good?

Thanks,
Mark

MARKY82, No, I don't have a problem with the colors running or getting on your clothes. One thing I did do was to put a good coat of Scotchgard on the seats when I was done. Never had a problem. If your seats are cloth and not leather, I don't see a problem doing them red/ black.

North Haven, huh? I grew up in Stratford. Moved to South Carolina in 89.

Good luck,
Fred

Is there anywhere locally I could get that dye?? Maybe a paint shop or something?? I want to do it this weekend, so I cant really order it online.

I tried Pep Boys, Autozone, Advance Auto, Etc. with no luck.

I saw carpet dye in the auto section of Walmart, try that

2 tone seats came stock on my 94. Red and Black. Check the sig out if you want to see it. My seats are fabricated and sewn a bit different but same shape.

I would like to revive this thread, as my search for leather seats, leather seat replacements, fabric seat replacments, have all been unfruitful. I really must do something with these grey two-tone zebra seats. They are mint, but I just don't like them. What is the answer people? What is the answer?
