I would say go with the black! I love chrome, don't get me wrong, but its a b**ch to keep them looking perfect all the time and you live in Vancouver, rock salt kills chrome!! I have the stock chrome wheels and next spring I'm getting painted Z06's. Plus the black will draw less attention (that's the bad attention by the way) than the chrome will. Good luck bro!!

Why? Because some people don't want chrome like everyone else?

i'm not trying to put anyone's ideas down......i just don't understand those who want to "hide" their wheels....your cars don't look any better or faster. what's the point? i think it's ashame because you have a beautiful car that any given day would get a decent amount of attention and your looking to make it look like a beater......

i can understand those of you who don't like chrome; certain cars i can agree with it as well. i see the point of carbon fiber looking rims, polished, painted, and chrome. but black? maybe if your car was black but even then......

i say it's ashame because you wanting to ruin the looks of the car........what difference is it from running 4 black spares? you can't tell from a distance.....if that's the look that you are trying to achieve then go for it!

do what you want because after all it's "different"

Exactly...they look like spares from a distance. Yuck.

Chrome Wheels = GOOD!
Black Wheels on the right car with the right color = AWESOME!!!

Do it man...IMO that would look very nice, and would be different, but not in a bad way. Everyone has their own opinion, that's the basic point of the appearance section I think...but I like them.

But you are putting these guys (and me) down. Some appearance mods are not about 'getting attention'. It's that second glance, where the understated features give the overall image the owner is looking for.

I have some of the biggest wheels you can fit under an f-body, but they are factory silver and don't stick out flush with the bodywork - the 'average person' thinks these wheels came stock from the factory.

Chrome and stripes and sticking a flashing purple light on the dash gets attention. So do gold chains, spiky haircuts, and a ring through your ______ (pick your favourite body part).

I have a grey car, lowered with silver wheels. With the addition of a spray-can-black roll bar with some black foam padding, I will have the look I wanted -- like it just rolled off the road course.

Well I have NEVER cared for black wheels on any car (especially a black car) and have always loved chrome.

BUT

The pics of the car above WERE very nice. Thus i stand coreected. Go for it sleeper.

looks good . . . just make sure u watch ur car anytime u take it to the car wash or change tires or any little work, powder coats scratch really easy and ull notice it a mile away having silver scratch on a black rim.

i think all of your are to emotional........i'm not putting anyone down, i'm stating my opinion and the opinion of many others which is that it's ashame you want to emulate a "road rally" type vehicle using a style of rim that looks like your riding on spare tires. not only are the majority of cars doing this not road rally cars, but that particular color of rim detracts from the attractiveness of the car.......so now the car is neither a racer nor a looker....what's the point?

i applaud all ideas of being original as well as those few that aren't and want to be different. i can understand the idea to want to look like it rolled off the road course. i just question it? especially since it is a rather common thing so your not so different anyway.

if you take that as putting you or anyone elses car down then your not very open to other ideas and are just looking for praise.

why not change the topic to "hey everyone, tell me how good my car looks with black wheels".

people should do what they want with their cars; but there is a time and a place for everything.........don't expect everyone to like it.

enjoy your spares, i mean black wheels people......it just makes everyone elses cars look nicer at the light.

Whoa guys, were all on the same team here. Lets save the harshness for the ricers and stangs owners. I like opinions, good or bad. I don't know you guys so I'm gonna get the honest truth from you, that's why I posted the question. I really like the Grand Sport Vette, my uncle has one. I just pictured his wheels on my car. The term spare's my be the truth, but picture it with Baer Brakes, big a$$ tires and a pro-kit. Now what do think? It's all about doing it right the first time. The pictured Z above looks ok, BUT it needs to be lowered a bit and maybe ok. BUT imagine Baer Brakes, ok now were getting somewhere.

"Can't we all get along here".

Now maybe I can ask a different question, "what do you guys think of my color coded pewter wheels on my pewter Z?"

I just visioned something different a minute ago..

All opinions welcome...
