Wont rev beyond 5400rpm

Ok need ideas of what to try...........

Engine is a motown 415cui
- 9.0 comp
- CC306 cam
- HSR intake
- Jegs 197cc heads
- 58mmTB
- MSD 6AL system with MSD coil
- exhaust is SLP 1.3/4 headers, with dual 3" HF cats and free flow muffler.
- Procharger F1 9psi @ 5400rpm so far........

The problem is that the car wont rev beyond 5400 rpm, it just stops pulling? even with 9psi of boost, it just falls flat on its face............

Ive checked
- No rev limits in the ECM (fuelcut off and so on)
- plug gap set to 0.9mm
- fuel pressure is stable
- Spark tested fron 24deg to 32 deg with 9psi

The AFR under boost is at "safe" 10.5-11.0

Any ideas? the only thing that I havent changed on the engine is the distributor its still stock........

I'll se if I can figure out a easy way of doing that.............the rev limit on MSD is set to 7000rpm.

Preload the lifters with only 1/16 of a turn and give it a try.
What brand of lifters are you using ??

I doubel checked my fuel pressure a few minutes ago and it starts to drop at 5000rpm @8 psi .........Time for a boost a Pump.......

The lifters are Crane "anti-pump up" or "retrofit" or whatever they are called

Racetronics makes a duel intank or an Aeromotive external.

Re: Wont rev beyond 5400rpm

I've just pleced a order for a second walbro 340 high pressure. I will control it via the ECM or a hobbs switch set at 5-6psi..............
