There are oversized Heli-Coils for this exact instance, among a few other instances. Installation of these is usually more successful with the proper tools as will be included or documented with the inserts, should you buy just the inserts.

WD-40 is NOT a thread cutting lubricant! Use kerosene, or even diesel fuel, before WD-40!

where can i get such inserts? Btw the size of the bolt that needs to screw in there is 7/16 -14...so since i pulled that helicoil out with the threads, i need to go one size up ..which means using the 1/2 helicoil?? how do i get back to 7/16? HElicoil a helicoil?

now i am, after i fix the holes lol..i was just driving and next thing i know i am runnin on 7 cylinders.....pop the valve cover and see the mess. When i was putting the studs in i went to torque one of them to 75lbs and it kept spinning...kinda thought i might be in trouble..didnt think it would rip the damn helicoil out of the head though

Saint, sorry to hijack, but did you have any problems with the MTI heads threads that hold the intake on the passanger side next to last one? The reason I ask is I'm trying to get the intake on, but that one hole just won't get tight and the threads are almost gone. I guess it's time for a helicoil or King insert.

Yikes, 75 ft/lb is a lot, stock torque spec is 50 ft/lb.
