I've never heard of them, but I know you guys would have if they were any good. Called twisted wedge and used on the calloway tt vettes? So just out of curiosity, are they real heads and would they be that beneficial? Or maybe they're just old wives tales.

apparently they came with a 13* canted valve angle 64cc cumbustion chamber 180cc intake port and 2.02 1.60 valves

Yep they are the same thing as the old SBC Twisted Wedge Heads.... you can find a pair of them here and there once in a while.

do they need any special valvtrain? do they flow that much better than a ported LT1 head or any of the current offerings?

Yes on the special valvetrain... and my opinion on why they dont make them is that if they were better they would still be making them.

I ran across a set of these heads on ebay a week or two ago, so I called Trick Flow themselves and asked about them. The guy just laughed when I read the part number to him and said "You must have found these on ebay!"
I did not get technical with him since I don't know much about heads yet, but he said they do not flow as well as the newer ones and that they do require special parts.

From what I have gathered in reading a biton them, they require specific valvetrain, and other special parts that make them a bitch ot equip.

Secondly even with the 10* valve angle dvantage they don't hold a candle to the new Trick Flow 23* LT1 heads.

I had a pair back in "the day" and so did some of my friends. There were a couple of impressive combinations for what they were. However, everyone had problems with them wearing out valve guides. Back then, we didn't know anything about valvetrain geometry and probably screwed that up. I have to believe that if you get the valvetrain right and properly port them, then they have more power potential than 23 deg heads.
