Oversized Rings?

Do they make oversized rings for small oversized bores? I was just wondering if i can use my stock pistons again if it needs to be bored out. And if they do make them how much oversize do they go/ or would you recommend.

Re: Oversized Rings?

Pistons need a specific clearence between the piston and the wall. Going .001 - .002 oversize on the bore usually isn't going to hurt anything. If you're thinking about something like .030" overbore then you need new pistons.

Rings are commonly available .005" over most bore sizes. This allows for file fitting of the rings to obtain a desired ring gap.
