Guys, it wouldn't surprise me after what all my car (1994 Z28 A4) has been through, but I think I'm getting some engine knock. I had my uncle rebuild the lower end about 7 months ago (crank, bearings, oil pump). He used a Clevite LT1 crank and Clevite bearings. He definitely knows what he's doing (used to build dirt track and drag cars in Tulsa). I had to get it rebuilt b/c some bastages ran it without oil or something and fried the bearings.
Well, it never really dawned on me til tonight, but I think my car has lost a little bit of power (could just be my imagination). But tonight I was driving and hit about 4500 RPM in first just messing around. Well, right after that, I heard what I thought was some sharp knocks, they were very slight and actually went away after a couple of minutes. I look at my oil pressure and it's down farther than it's been since the rebuild, around 10psi. Normally on idle it's around 19-20. It has slowly been dropping within the last couple of weeks. So I open the hood and I hear a slight thumping at the back of the engine on the driver's side. The same spot I've had exhaust leak problems (bolt keeps coming loose). So I rev it up via the TB linkage but I don't hear any knocking except when it's idling.

I also have an oil leak somewhere (pretty sure it's the intake). Also, I changed the oil myself for the first time 2 weekends ago. I'm pretty sure I didn't mess anything up.

A guy that looked at my car before I took it to my uncle's showed me how you could feel the piston hitting the head by holding your hand on top of the throttle body. Well, I did that and I can feel a knock.

Opinions please!

Could that exhaust leak be making a thumping noise? And the leak be causing my lower oil pressure?
