383

Im looking at building a lt1 383 i want to be able to hit it with 100-150 shot, will the I-beam rods and cast steel crank hold? does anyone know of a good lt1 383 kit? im also going to keep stock 2 bolt main only with arp bolts.

Our supporting vendors are a good source for stroker kits.

You could save a lot of money by sticking with the stock crank and building a 355. Just add forged rods (I-beams should be fine) and forged pistons.

But if you're set on a 383 then you can go with a scat kit. If you're going to stick with a 2-bolt then I suggest a stud kit, for strength

Then again if you're going to have the motor torn down and machined why not build it with room to grow? Splayed main caps, all forged internals, rings gapped for a 300 shot.
