The setup will fit on any SBC without special bolt pattern heads (i.e. Vortecs, Fastburns, etc). 87+ is centerbolt valve covers/hydraulic roller cam, I *think.* In that case, it wouldn't affect the intake setup.

Exactly right, although the roller cam shouldn't be much of a problem. You can (and should) by a kit to upgrade to a roller cam. Other things to look for: knock sensor (do you have one) and O2 sensor. What kind of tranny do you have? You'll need a host of sensors, wire harness, ECM, electric fuel pump, intake setup, etc.

It will work on 87 up center bolt heads(except vortec) no problems

it will work on pre 86 perimiter bolt heads by just ovaling out(not much) the center bolt holes in the intake, and using washers on the bolts

What does the engine have for induction now? If you go from carb to TPI, be forewarned that you may lose power; especially from 4000 rpm to redline. The other aspects of EFI make it a worthwhile swap, but you may want to consider a different style intake than TPI, something affordable like an HSR or converted LT1 intake. This depends heavily on your current combonation of course. Just want you to be aware of other options.
