what to use 84 or 90

I am posed with a dilemma and i need a little help. today i bought an 84 z28 for parts. i already have a 90 rs that im putting a lt1 in but i needs a few things. the body on the 90 is in decent shape, it needs a fender and a from nose than paint. the 84 has the fender i need thats why i bought it. also the 90 has some intreiror, sorry for the spelling, issues. the dash is cracked and some of the vents are missing fins. the inteoir, again sorry, on the 84 is for all intents and purposes pretty perfect, almost like new and way better than the 90. i just got done busting my *** painting the engine bay on the 90. the 84 has all aftermarker front suspention and has been lowered 2 inches, the lowering i dont like but thats easy to put back. the 84 however needs some bodywork, but nothing major and nothing that wouldnt be taken care of with a decent paint job. what i was going to do originally was swap everything from the 84 to the 90. the dash, fender, front suspention, stuff like that. my friend is saying i should just use the 84 and swap the stuff i want from the 90 to make it look like a 90 because i like the look of the 90 better. what do you guys suggest. and also if there are any differences beteween the 90s and the 84s, not body wise because that can be eaisily changed that i should know about, that would sway me to go with one car or another. both cars have no motor or trans. i have a 97 lt1, six speed and a ford 9 inch thats ready to go in either car. i just need to know what to put them in. sorry about the spelling errors.

I would stick with the 90'. The 84' has seen more years and with being a unibody that six years can make a difference. Although if the car (84) was treated well and the 90 wasn't it could be different. Look where your front beams meet your roof, check for cracks. Open and close the doors if you have to lift the doors to close them that could be a sign of body flex or it could just be worn hinge pins. Do they have T-tops? If one does and the other doesn't than look a little harder at the one that does (they are notoiously weak, structurally). Too bad you cant drive them cause then you could learn alot more about the body (creaks, squeeks, and grinds...etc.) As for the interchangability I believe most of it is swappable but I can't be sure. Not to much help was it. Sorry

Good luck with everything.

I would stick with the 90. It has updated interior, probably less miles and wear, and everything bolts on from the 84. If you need a nose buy one aftermarket from Trojan or Sherman & accociates. Mine was $150 i think and it fits good.

Where do you live? Maybe some of us can take some leftover parts off your hands?

bith cars have no t-tops, i try to stay away from then because the unibody flexes enough as it is. i think the 84 has a little hinge sag, and i dont think theres any cracks in the roof on either one. i think im staying with the 90 and swapping the parts out from the 84. everything should interchange. as for extra parts im in hawaii, i know it sucks. shipping would be hell but, if youre still interested let me know what you need and ill tell you if i got it. anybody know where i can get the 82-84 z28 hood? i really like that hood and year one dosnt have them anymore. steel is ok but i really want fiberglass. thanks.

I have an 84 H.O. and I have the hood but its steel and not in the best condition your probably better off going with an aftermarket fiberglass hood.

Do you have the address or email for the place you bought your nose from? Do they sell T/A noses too?

Those pics are the new nose.. I will say it fits well, but not like a GM part. It does have minor inconsistencies but you really can't tell unless you're the guy waxing the car

Stay with the '90 and just swap interiors. It is real simple to swap interiors and a lot cheaper than bodywork. I have had the complete interiors in and out of several of my Camaros. Also the '82-'84 Camaros with the deluxe interiors have the highest quality door panels of all the 3rd gen (much thicker material, all cloth), and their arm rests seem to hold up better. I had an '82 that I took three different cars interior out of to make one. It was a nice combination of black and blue. I wish I would of gutted and kept that interior went it got wrecked.
