Vss question?
 

The car is an 87 iroc with a 383 stroker tpi 700r with all kinds of aftermarket stuff.... Block, injection, 700r came out of an 88 corvette...


What does the computer us the vss readings for.... Just speedo and cruise? Or does it affect the lock up or tccc........... or anything else I can't think of? Thanks a bunch..

Oh, almost forgot, I had a custome chip made for emissionsa few years ago and just installed a motorvation stage 3.... maybe 100 miles with new chip I get code 24.... It was raining very hard and water gets in the fender where the main harness goes in...

the computer is under the right side hush panel..The VSS is for the speedo and the TC lock up. Thats it.

Thanks for the reply, it seems the problem has nothing to do with the new chip and the lock up seems to be working.... The code only trippes when i'm off the gas coasting or slowing down... I'm not too familar with the vss system and what all the data is used for by pcm.... I haven't had time to check wiring or operation with in... If anyone can tell me what they know about the speed sensor operation, it would be great...
