Arrow Tranny Help!!

Ok, so here's the deal. I'm new to the board as a registered member but I've read quite a few threads and most are very helpful. Anyway, I have an 84 Z-28 with a GM crate 350 and an automatic 4 speed. I bought the car this way and haven't done anything to it other than routine stuff like oil and air filter. Well, last weekend in Salem I pulled out of a parking lot and heard/felt a strange metal dragging sound under the car where the tranny would be. I wouldn't hear the sound at Idle or in Neutral only when accelerating. At first the noise was isolated to first gear but later that night when i finally limped home it made noise in every gear. Most mechanics and shops have said that it looks like my transmission was rebuilt recently so could it be something else? My dad seems to think it could be U-joints. Anything else? Also, if the tranny is gone, what would you buy an 84 Z with a new 350, new corvette red paint, new interior, exhaust and busted tranny. The body is straight, a few tiny parking lot dents but the paint still looks better than some new cars. Thanks in advance.

I'll check on the Torque Arm Bushing this weekend when I get home and can look around underneath. Any other suggestions?

My Z just went in the shop today. Never let your parents deal with this stuff if you want it done in a timely manner. Anyway, I think now that it is something associated with the transmission but not necessarily the tranny itself. It will still drive and haze the tires but shakes and makes noise pretty bad. Well, I guess I have to wait a few days to see what happens.
