i am getting parts together for my tranny swap auto to t-5, and i need some info on flywheels,

one guy had one from a 91, which would be a 1 piece rear main correct?

my engine is a 2 piece rear main cuz its an 84, can i use the flywheel from the 91 or will it not work?

if not what causes it to not work?

I don't believe it will work. If I'm not mistaken the one piece crank flange is smaller than the two peice.

'86 and newer Chevy V8 one piece rear main seal cranks have a smaller flywheel bolt pattern, so the flywheels won't even bolt up to the '85 and older cranks. Also, I believe the '86 and newer cranks are external balance (counterweight on the flywheel and damper) instead of internal.

ok new question, can i use a 14 inch flywheel, with a stock t5 bell housing?,

my step dad has one, we think it is from a big block, the part number on it is 3729004, it does not appear to have any weights attached indicating that its an external balance, which is what i need correct?
