no insturment panel/tail/parking lights
 

I have an 84 IROC-Z. recently the instrument panel backlights went out. I changed the fuse and they were fine until next time I drove the car, i barely touched the headlight/dimmer switch and they went out again, this time it was not the fuse and the tail lights are out too, but they still go on when I hit the brakes. I bought a new headlight switch assembly and put it in but that was not the problem. Spent several hours trying to figure this out. please help! thanks.

a short? Buddy of mine had the same prob thought it was the headlight switch but it wasnt. He had a wire grounding out somewhere. Was gonna help him fix it but his teacher got it for him because he said it was showing a code on the comp. Did you run the comp. Get any codes? Check the wiring something possibly grounding somewhere.
