Hello all!

I'm new to the Camaro world, and I have a lot of questions. I'm currently deployed with the U.S army and since I've been gone, I bought an 88 IROC Z 5.7. From what I can tell by the pictures my dad has sent me, it looks mainly stock other than the hood. I was wondering what I should look into replacing first and what is the best performance upgrades to start with for the car. Like I said in the title, I'm new to these treads so if im posting in the wrong catagory, I apologize. Thanks to anyone who may be able to help!

Welcome aboard and killer car! I was a Trans-Am guy myself in high school in the 80's and remember my arch rival the IROC Z very well. I would start with exhaust, maybe a shift kit, cold air intake and tighten up the suspension. Suspension is key if it's original. Other than that make sure the engine isn't too sloppy or running it hard might trash it. Once you know it's solid, have fun with it before any heavy mods, once you go down that road it never ends. Back in the day I built my favorite TA to the point that it wasn't even fun to drive on the street anymore.
