My LT1 swap ta

Heys guys,

Im currently in the middle of swapping a lt1/t56 combo into my 84 formula. Its a 93-97 f body lt1 with gm847 cam, le2 heads and intake, hooker headers,58mm bbk, new std forged pistons and new procomp rods with cap screws.

Any ideas what she will run in the quarter. Race weight will be right at 3000 with me in it. Also 9 bolt bw rear with 3.45 posi rear.

Dustin

There was no 1984 formula. They did not start until 1987 in the 3rd gen.

Well, GM847 cam only cars are dipping into the 11's. So with heads and a couple hundred pounds less weight, do the math. Thats assuming you can drive and have drags and the tune is good. You might want to step up the gears as well. That cam loves high rpms. I'd get a set of 4.10s or even 4.30s and call it a day.

Thats good to hear man. Im planning on upgrading to a 9" rear with 4.10 or 4.56 when my factory one break. I also plan on sticky tires as well. How much abuse will my t56 take with this kind of power and sticky tires?

My cars biggest downfall with drag racing will be the fairly stiff road racing suspension.

The T56 will be fine with what you have in mind. They are pretty tough. I thought it was good for up to 500hp/500tq. Your hp should be in the low 400s and torque should be close but a bit lower.

I was curious and didn't figure them to be that high. My hp goal is around 400 at the wheels. That should be a wicked fast street car that not many others with to run with.
