get your camaro looking nice with a good, not the best, paint job and then work on the suspension. later down the road build up that rear end and yank that 305 out of there.

being from california i would het the gears first because they work with everything, (carb) headers, shift kit, all the stuff they can't sniff but will make you faster. don't worry about the unibody.
if you want to upgrade brakes cheap, check out the other posts they have great ideas on brakes. the paint is the most expensive and you might not get it done for 3000. try to get parts that will upgrade and not hinder when you decide to go with a big 383 stroker. good luck . btw nitrous is a cheap go fast fix

I'd do the paint. It can then be admired just sitting still.

If it were me I'd start with option 2, that would be a good starting platform for future mods. What good is a bunch of POWER and FANCY PAINT if you can't stop it from wrapping around a tree!?

Well Here's what I decided on so Far:

Big Brake Upgrade, "LS1" $735 shipped
http://www.metzcon.com/bigbrake/products.htm

I'm having Alston's Sub frame connectors welded on by Dyno Don here in So. Cal. $245.00 installed

I found a paint shop through friends that is going to give me a first class paint job including softball sized dent on Passenger's door, removal of all rubber before paint and then reinstalling it, grinding and repairing the rust under the T-Tops. $2500.00

I know I spent more than I planned but my bonus was more than I thought even after taxes.

So thanks for all the advice Guys

but heh get some b4 pics and after. i wish i took before and afters of my engine bay ;D i got mad room after removing ac, power steering(put in vega box) and basically remove anything that wasnt vital hehe.

I had my subconnectors welding in yesterday and while talking with "Dyno Don", a local guy who used to race back in the day and now has a shop and only works on 3rd gens, showed me some of his home made Headers and just how restrictive the stock exhaust system is. Anyway I'm postponing the paint and he's going to install a set of his headers, fab up a custom Y-pipe and install a Cat-Back system and maybe throw on a Transgo shift kit. This guy does everything front bumper to bumper on our cars.

Oh and I also bought a 93 Camry to drive around while my IROC is being worked on. That pretty much eats up my paint money. But my car still isn't ugly, it looks good from 10 feet away.

LOL! From what I hear, after Don gets through with your ride you'll be more than 10' ahead of anyone so they won't notice anyway.

congrats on your choices, they'er good ones.
