heater hose question

heater hose question
Putting the engine back in and can't figure out which hose goes to the heater core from the control valve. Have 3/4 and 5/8 inch outlets on the valve and same size on heater core. Which one goes to the core? Then the other would go to the bypass back to radiator. Thanks.
