How much horspower can a stock TPI air filter housing support?

Currently I'm running 2 85 GN air boxes on my twin turbo Chevelle. They are showing to be restrictive at the 650rwhp level.

The TPI air filter housing -appears- to be less restrictive, so I'm looking for results/opinions as to how much power it can support.

What I'm looking at is this-

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Thanks!

I'm a little confussed? If you have a twinturbo setup why don't you have a custom air inlet/s.

It's in a 1970 Malibu. I want to keep factory airboxes for a closer to OEM look.

Confused? How can that filter housing be a stock item for a TPI motor? Much less find the space for it in a Fbody, unless TPI stands for something other than Tuned Port Injection I'm totally confused.
I'm sure you're talking about a carb, or TBI, but the acronym TPI is throwing me off.

Yes, I know this is an old post.

That ebay pic is actually life size of the air box, so you can imagine air not flowing well. Kidding, it is a very restrictive peice. Most TPi guys will gut it so the lid can still close on it. OR they just go to a cone filter on the end of the intake tube. That is just for the Firebird guys. Camaros got a much different intake system that has two filters allowing cooler air to come in through the fog light housings.

I would look someplace else honestly. Sorry I don't have actual numbers.

In 1992, all of us Firebird guys were jealous of the Z28 owners in that they had a superior air cleaner setup. The common knowledge at the time was that the Z28 had 5 to 10 HP more demonstrated power than the Trans Am because of the air cleaner assembly.
