Fuel Injectors
Anybody know what type (brand) of injectors I can use on a factory controlled TPI car? I want to move up to 24lb, but don't know if I need a high or low impedence set. The Motorsport ones seem pretty reasonable priced, but I don't know if they will work. Any ideas?

Commonly used is the Motorsport or SVO ones. Order a set from Jegs or Summit and be done with it. FMS-M9593A302 is the part number I used for $220

Not 100% sure but they are high impediance ones. I have had high and low ones in different cars but I believe these are high ones. Anyway, that is what I am running and what I bought so I figure they are right.

Thanks, I was hoping the Motorsport pieces would work. Going to order a set and take some more material out of the intake at the same time.
thanks, Mark |
You will probably need a custom EPROM to have the car run right. Don't buy a Hyperjunk or some piece that someone claims is right unless they take readings and make adjustments at least a few times. NO ONE is so good they can get it nuts on the first time.

The TPI cars all use high imp. injectors from the factory. You can't run low imp. injectors on the stock computer without modification. And yes you'll need someone to burn you a chip if you buy injectors that are larger than your stock ones.

I was planning on getting a chip made anyhow, since I have made some more mods that demand it anyhow. Just thought I would get the injectors while I am at it. Thanks for the info!

As long as they have a means to get feedback from the ECM and make changes to the EPROM, go for it. www.fasterproms.com will do it via email. You tell them what you got and they will burn it to spec. Take readings, send them the readings via email and they will reburn the chip. Probably take 3 burns to get it perfect.
