wel it is going to be a Strip and street... I wont be driving this every day it will be a weekend ground and pound... I bought this car for 500$ from a guy that didn't know what he had. The car has never been wrecked and is in perfect shape. I just want to get the most out of my fac tune port cause i love the look, I also want a very noticeable lope. Im putting 4.10 gears in it. I want around a 2800 stall. Ive had so many pep tel me so many diff combos and i fig that this web site would fix my problem...

Does it run good now? I'm not a big fan of spending money on good parts and then topping them off with a stock TPI setup... It's like buying a a muscle car to tow a trailer... not very fun in ,my opinion. TPI makes torque, these mods make a TPI car worthwhile. Goodluck!
1. Mickey Thompson ET Street Radials(255/50/16)
2. 2600rpm torque converter
3. 75-100 shot of nitrous.
*A TPI car is useless if it doesn't hook up when you plant the GO pedal.
**The converter feels like a 50hp gain because it puts you AT the torque peak when your press said GO pedal.
***Nitrous speaks for itself. Instant 100hp/200ft-lbs of torque.

I got it in jan of this year and it didn't run. It had been sitting sence 05 I got it home and had it running before the night was over. It always smoked so I fig I would just rebuild the engin. It ran great after i got the thing timed... i did the normal stuff to get it running again I pulled the motor and found it was bored 40 over the crank was turned 20*, The block didn't have a single ring grove or scratch and the carbon build up in the cylinders wiped right out... I think the guy put the wrong size rings in it... He was a real winner! The heads and block both had been reworked recently. It also has a roller cam with roller lifters, My buddy talked me into ordering the comp cam thumpr series cam 235/249 duration an 521/507 lifts. I am not going to stroke it any more trying to save money to spend else where. Am I on the right path and if so what heads do yal think would work best??? Thanks im kinda new at all this hot rod stuff ive always worked on motors with my dad and grandpa but it was just factory stuff this is my first build...

If you like the "look" of TPI, then you need to look at Scoggin-Dickey's website for their Vortec TPI intake manifold, plus a set of their Vortech cylinder heads. Then you need whatever camshaft Scoggin Dickey recommends for those heads. It'll probably be somewhere around 218 to 224 degrees of duration, with no more than .550" lift. It'll still have a lope to it, don't worry.
Rely on the experts who do this every day. Don't rely on your friend. A thumper cam with those specifications you quoted, if it's at .050" lift, will do nothing but sound radical, but it will be a dog off the line, and choked to death by the TPI before it even gets to it's peak powerband.
A 235/249 cam should be used ONLY with a single plane intake manifold capable of allowing for a 6500 - 6800 RPM operation: A Miniram, a converted LT1 intake manifold, or possibly a Stealthram. Either that, or forego EFI altogether, strap on a Victor 4BBL manifold, some well-ported aftermarket heads, a 3000 RPM stall converter, and go hit the dragstrip.

I have the Scoggin crate Vortec TPI motor. They put the GMPP hot cam in it. It's 218 228 .525 .525 lift.

It runs very good and sound incredible. I'm having some trans issues right now to get thru. But a 1987 Trans Am GTA with the same motor ran low 13's on pass time. Ha ha. I figure I'll be in the low to mid 13's.

EDIT:
Here is the GTA I was talking about. Turns out I video taped it on my cell phone. I posted it on Youtube.
