code 22 and 44
any idea what they are?
|
Code 22: Sticking or misadjusted TPS (Throttle Position Sensor), poor electrical connection, open or short in circuit, defective TPS, defective ECM.
Code 44: Lean exhaust- Lean condition caused by malfunctioning carburetor/fuel injector, vacuum leak, low fuel pressure, etc.; poor electrical circuit, defective MAP sensor, defective O2 sensor, defective ECM Source: Haynes Repair Manual: 82-92 Camaro |
Thanks... I think my TPS is bad.... could that cause the other sensor to read that it's running lean?
|
it's possible however i doubt it. How long have the current O2 sensors been on there? usually when an O2 sensor goes bad it gives you a lean code. The TPS is pretty easy to replace it took me maybe 15 minutes if that. Take the old one off put the new one on just like that. I had to replace mine the other day on my 305 IROC-Z. I'd look at the O2 sensors though myself.
