87 t5 TRANS swap into a 91 350tpi?
im thinking of buying a 1987 iroc with 305 quad and borg warner t5.
i have a 91 z28 5.7 auto, and i want to swap the manual.
will the parts and trans fit my car(91) without problems?
im aware of the Torque rating and i plain to build the tranny to handle it before it goes in.

Yes the trans and all swap parts will fit just fine, only some minor fabrication will need to be done. FWIW in my 92 Ive had an 85 Iroc 5 speed behind a 95 truck 350 for 3 years and no problems so far. Although I do tend to baby the car.

Here is a short write up on the swap, not sure if you have seen it.

Another writeup on the T5 swap, with some pictures.
If you get all the necessary parts from the donor car (don't forget pedals, hydraulics, shifter plate and mainly the torque arm mount!), you should be ready to install it in one weekend. It requires just minor cutting in the floorboard (for the shifter) and the firewall (for the clutch master cylinder).
One last thing that will be hard to find is a chip for the T5 behind your 350, they didn't come stock that way so you'll have to find a home-made chip online and hope it runs well (it's always a gamble).
Hope this helps.

the hard part will be hanging the pedals, mounting the reservoir and hooking up the hydraulics.
the rest is all simple nuts and bolt work.
Never heard of a chip failure when swapping to an auto, biggest issue is no torque converter which does not throw a code.
I know -- I swapped a T5 into my '90 L98.
oh yeah, dyno'd over 400lbs tq. Lots of runs down the track. T5 works great. Might want to get a poly bushing for the tranny mount.
