2.8L v6, possible performance upgrades?

The engine in my car get's the 0-60 time in a slow 9-10 seconds. Wondering what can be done to get that 0-60 in about 7-8 (if possible). I've heard performance chips can do a little, changing air filters, and a few other thigns, but I'm wondering what really could be done?

Does anyone know the best, most efficient way to get the 7-8 time without switching out the engine?

what is it in year and model....

Its just like anything else.....basics...gears, converter, someone makes headers for them, cam, lots of stuff

search for 60 degree v-6

Don't expect to get much out of it......to make it fast would cost soooo much money you could have swapped a v-8 in or gotten another car

I see you've joined? Smart choice Bro.

Honestly, auto tranny's do NOT do our 60*v6's any justice whatsoever. If possible, I'd slap a 5spd into there. If not, get better rear gears (first you need to find out what you have, but probably crappy 2:73's or something), and a higher stall. That would help you launch that car anyhow. Then try ignition upgrades, wires, plugs, fuel filter, try purchasing that chip for the 2.8 from 60*v6's store, etc. Also, believe it or not, SeaFoam your motor thru the brake-booster line. That helps a LOT if you have a decent ammount of mileage.
These mods alone will get that car rockin' a bit :)

I brought him over from 60*v6 actually Dacton.
But man there is actually quite a bit of support for the 60*.. more than ya'd think. And it doesn't take a whole lot to get them moving.

I used a 100 shot of NOS to compete with Stangs and stuff in my Fiero 2.8 liter. I would recommend just doing that.

I also had underdrive pulley, Supertrap exhaust, and K&N filter.

With NOS I hit 1/4 in 14.5 at 99

without I hit 1/4 in 15.6 at 88

port the upper plennum, cost is minimal and gains can be considerable.

they do make some upgraded cams for that motor, you could squeeze some power out that way.

but probably gears and converter would be the best way
