Hello all. I’m Jason. Been a lurker for awhile. I’ve scoured the various threads to research my current problem but to no avail.

Im in the midst of resurrecting my car from a 2 year slumber.

Replaced fuel pump relay.

I have been been experiencing a hard start event. When I turn the key I can hear the pump prime and a click at the starter relay. If I jump the starter motor with the key in the “on” position, the motor will fire and run. If i turn the key “off” and turn it to start it will fire. If I continue to do that it will continue to fire. If I stop for a few seconds, it won’t start. I have to repeat the process. I’ve replaced entire distributor, coil, and ignition switch.

One of my suspicions would be the starter solenoid or power to the solenoid. I haven’t pulled the starter because the starter works when jumped. I’m going to check power to the solenoid now.

I’m obviously missing something just not sure what it is.
