1988 350 L98 2 Bolt Main Torque

Anyone know the torque for the 1988 TPI 350 2 Bolt main bearing caps. I have two manuals and they are both different.

do the average or borrow a shop manual.


thats what id do. what is the difference by the way?

One manual says 85ft lbs and the other says 70ft lbs.

Also depends on if you're using the bolts dry, with oil on them, or with assembly lube on them.

i always do 65 FT LBS with ARP moly lube. Never had a problem

Ended up using 85Ft lbs. Everything spins fine.. Thanks all
