Binding brakes

My 2017 SS Camaro sounds like the brakes are binding. This only happens after its been parked for long period of time. This never happened in the spring or summer, since its turned colder I was wondering it was only doing this when its cold. After I drive a few miles the binding sound goes away. Should I be concerned? I already took to the Dealership and they gave me information from GM saying since I have High Performance brakes this is normal and nothing to worry about. And you say?

Isn't your car still under warranty? I would bring it in to let the dealer take a look. Better safe than sorry IMHO.

Dealer already showed him info from GM indicating it’s because he has "High Performance brakes". Probably worth a second opinion. Unfortunately few if any 6th Gen owners here to help him out.

What does “sounds like the brakes are binding” mean? When does the sound happen? Can you describe the sound? How long is the “long time” it’s been parked?

Re: Binding brakes

When I first read this, I thought of how flash rust on the rotors can make some noise when you first apply the brakes and until the rust scrapes off. In the warmer months, moisture would tend to dissipate more easily from the rotors, making it less likely to occur. When it is colder, any moisture will be less apt to evaporate before forming flash rust.

I can notice it when I wash my car then put it up for the night without taking it for a drive. The next morning when I back out of the garage, the brakes can make an unpleasant grinding noise (but I know why :) ). It goes away with just a few stops.

Sounds like squeaking sound, It happens in the morning and than happens after 8-9 hours of work when I go home. Usually after about 2-5miles while moving the binding sounds goes away and no issues. So I don't know.
