Widen factory wheel and 315s on rear?

I've not been able to spend much time researching my 2010 Camaro and mods and such but it is killing me that the tires on the rear or so "skinny". I'm used to having 315s on my 4th gen

I like the look of the factory 20" wheel so am thinking about getting it widened. I'm curious how wide people have gone with a rear tire on both the factory wheels and even aftermarket (offset? backspacing? etc.?). I'll keep the factory wheel if I can get it widened for a reasonable price... if anybody has had the factory wheels who did it and are you happy with the results?

Thanks!

I wouldn't. I don't think it looks quite as good as it did on the 4th gens. Plus I think 315 is getting pretty tight in there. Not to mention, it hurts handling big time.

ive seen 305 on the stock 9.0 wide rear wheels. also have seen a few guys put the rear wheels up fron and widen the 8.0 wide front wheel, for the rear.

315's will fit as long as the wheels are the right offset. If you are planning on widening the factory wheels you have 2 options.

1) Move the rear wheels to the front, then have the fronts widened to 10.8, and then run a 22mm adaptor. With that setup you can run a 305, or a 315 without any issues. There is a shop here in Texas that sells that setup.

2) You could widen the rears to 10.5, and then you should not need an adaptor with the 305's. If you go with 315'S then you will probably need the adaptor.

I have been looking at doing this for quite some time. I have a club member that is running option 1 on a Magnacharged 5th gen with no problems..

If you need anymore info pm me and I can steer you to what you are looking for. There are plenty of threads about this on the other boards, but I don't want violate any rules by post links to those sites. Hope this helps.
