Long Tube Headers
 

After having my 97 LT1 Camaro convertible for almost 13 years, I finally sold it and bought a 2011 2SS/RS convertible. It already came with a magnaflow catback, but not sure what kind, and a K&N CAI. I like the nice smoothe tone of it, but only wish it was a little louder. I would like to put headers on, but don't want it to be extremely loud and raspy. My 97 had a K&N CIA, Jet hott LT headers with borla catback ran open and high flow cat. It was extremely loud and had a raspy rumble to it. I really don't want that raspy rumble, but yet a nice louder deep smooth tune. Which headers do you think I should look at? I did look on youtube at different setups, but it's hard to tell how they would really sound in person. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. I am looking for the performance part of the headers also, just not as loud and raspy.

Well long tubes will make any exhaust louder. From what I know magnaflow systems seem to be on the tamer side so it will not be as harsh as an SLP loudmouth would. Even then there are different systems in the magnaflow line so it's hard to say. The LT's will basically enhance the characteristics of the exhaust.

I have a Corsa and it's very loud in the upper RPM range but not bad at all in the lower end. The performance gains are worth every penny. I am constantly getting stopped by people who compliment the sound. I say DO IT!!!!!! lol You wont regret it. ;)

I have the same year and model, but mine is a hard top, I installed Stainless Steel works high flow cats and all stainless pipe back.This is the sweetest sounding exhaust I have ever installed. It is loud but has a deep rumble sound to it. I am 56 years old and it sounds great when you push the pedal I just found myself doing it a little to much. This year add on is a Superchips programmer and a 95mm B & K throttle body.

Unfortunately you are somewhat limited, convertibles have more underbody bracing etc than hardtop cars. Our headers will fit your car however our crossover pipe will not fit convertible models. Given your concern with rasp and popping if it was me I would go with high flow cats. They will help clean up the sound a bit over a catless setup. I would probably do headers and see how it sounds and if you want it louder go with a Loud Mouth 2 or PowerFlo axleback to finish it off while retaining your factory mid pipe.

Something to keep in mind when shopping around, all of our exhaust is 304 stainless minus headers which are a coated 409 stainless. The only reason we do no use the higher grade 304 is because they are coated on top of already being a stainless steel.

I have a 2015 Camaro RS 3.6L that I am trying to find headers and exhaust for. All I'm finding is for 2010-2011 V6 Camaros. Has anyone seen anything for the 14-15 V6 Camaro? Also the Chevy dealer said that certain ground effects that are on the some of the camaros get in the way of certain exhaust tips,anyone heard anything on this?

kyle have a 15 ss convertible and have the muffler delete, putting your long tubes and cats what am I doing in the middle from the cats to the axle back. have always used slp stuff in my 4th gens and love it.

My buddy and I put some TSP headers on his 2010. They fit well and were big enough for when went forced induction.
They were good priced and easy to put on.
