I'll take it. can't wait to tow my boat with it. I love the wheels and exhaust especially!

So is this just the CTS-V engine?

ImportedRoomate 09-29-2010 05:44 AM

yes

The LSA bumps the Camaro up to class 3 towing capabilities :D

This car is going to be awesome, I can't wait to see it at the auto shows this year.

Everybody keeps quoting the LSA's horsepower and torque from the CTS-V, as if they're a given.

The exhaust will be at least a little bit different, and probably the intake too. In the CTS with the DI3.6, the SAE certified number is 304hp. In the Camaro with the same engine, it's 312. In the Corvette with the LS3, it's 430hp. In the Camaro, it's 426.

Suffice it to say that an LSA-powered Camaro would be in the ballpark of 556hp and 551 lb-ft of torque, but it will almost certainly not be those exact numbers (unless they don't get it SAE-certified right away, like they did with the V6).

Anyway, awesome. Looks like it's going to be the Indy pace car next year?

It looks like the hood has some sort of slots or louvers.

Now, Chevrolet, please offer a wider front wheel on the regular SS! 245s are pretty weaksauce for a car this big. Clearly, wider wheels will fit, one way another...

Heat extractors.
It needs them.

I'm thinking these are still mule pics. Isn't the Z28 supposed to be on an Alpha platform (smaller)?

I don't think so.

They were working on the Z28 before the whole bankruptcy deal. That pushed back the Z28 awhile.
