Will the 5th Gen V6 be quicker than the LT1?!?
As time moves forward and the Camaro draws near - there's been heavy talk of a 260 - 280 base V6.
I'm thinking it will be quicker than my LT1 at that point.
How do you feel about that?
I know........the 4th gen V6 (either the 3.4 or 3.8) was faster than the 1982-83 Z28's.
I guess history may very well repeat itself.
I'm not too happy about it is all.

A: Of course I did it only once, how often have you ever hit the same time in a row twice. I have hit lots of 14.5s, 14.6s, but I took a big hiatus from racing after I developed a clutch problem that only affected me while racing I fixed it and ran a 14.5@94 like a week ago, 1/22/05
Q: Were you factory stock?
A: No, I did free mods, but everything I do can be reversed and I can go from factory stock and getting warranty work done at a dealership, in ~30 min. Less then 2 min, if the exhaust is already unhooked.
How did you do it?
A: I just did free mods. I didn’t spend one cent, just used 1 flathead screwdriver, and a socket wrench with 2 sockets(1/2 in, and 15mm)
Free Mods when I ran the 14.4…
-removed Jack/spare
-Unhooked exhaust(at the factory point after the CAT and S-pipe, near the front of the Driveshaft)
-Unhooked Intake(open Throttle Body)
-Descreened MAF
-Unhooked Drivebelt
-Factory tires(Eagle GA, 235/55/16) with 35,000ish miles on them
Q: Is your car a lightweight or factory freak?
A: sort of, it has most options, monsoon, power everything, etc, I weighed it in without jack spare and low gas at 3270 which is pretty good, but with my ~300 lbs, 6’5” body in it, puts me ~3570 Race weight.
As for Factory freak? Don’t know, first time I ever ran it ran 15.8s when it was my dad’s I bought it off him a few years later and ran 15.2s paperfilter stock. Another thing to consider a lot of people thought my 94 3.4L was considered a “factory freak” what are the odds I got 2 in a row?

but most of the time increase was a crapload of practice at the track.
to be honest 3.4L is a rough platform, it has a worse aftermarket then the 3.8L and when you get into big mods there is near zero tuning avalible.
