Ok, I guess it was in reference to a 1969 Firebird they had there. What the hell? Why have a Firebird if there's no intentions of bringing it back???

Not while the GTO is around.

Since Pontiac is moving towards more of a "semi-luxury" brand it makes sense since the GTO has a better connotaton with its name. Adverse to the Firebird which basically is mostly synonymous with rednecks (no offense to anyone).

Figure the GTO is probably gonna be an M3 fighter... just priced better.

i thought i read in either high performance pontiac or gm high tech performance that the GTO was going to be in its last year of production in 2006. Yeah! It might come back in 2008 though. They also said Pontiac was looking for a new rear-wheel drive V8...

Any idea why they are skipping a year or two? I know they only had a 3 year contract or something with the Holden GTO.

Die GTO! DIE! DIE! DIE! I hate the GTO!!! Curse Pontiac for ever selling that stinking pile of crap and curse anyone who purchased one of these abominations!!! I'll not buy another new Pontiac until this piece of putrid junk is dead and buried!

I agree, sorta. No offense to the GTO guys, the car IS pretty fast, just would have been cool to have a Firebird rendition of the new car.
