Summit White Camaro confirmed!!
Summit White Camaro confirmed!!
Summit White is scheduled to start production in July 2009...a date which has not shifted since October 2008 announcements. Date recently confirmed by a dealer member of Camaro5 in a PM. Order system should open for Summit White around June 15 to allow for orders to be pulled for production post-July 13 when the plant reopens after shutdown for model changeover.

I think this car looks really nice in white.
Why wasn't white on the Menu at launch? Not like it is some fancy color that needed development.
My theory is since most rental fleets and cops will go for white they delayed it to hopefully delaying those orders till they get the bugs worked out? Just a crackpot theory.

It was a similar problem with the cyber grey metallic. Something to do with changing over to a different version of white (i.e. summit white) on mulitiple models? I want to say it was the Impala? I could be wrong there. The way I understand it, they wanted to coincide color changes across different models at the same time.
White and any bright color that doesn't hide some of the body lines looks good on the 5th Gen. I actually like the black spoiler and door handles on the pictured prototype but I doubt that will make production. White is almost always in the top few most chosen colors for new cars and the Camaro must have a white option.
New it needs some Inferno Orange stripes and matching IO interior!

I have missed out on 69 Indy Pace Cars more times than I can count. The white camaro looks like a good starting point for a modern recreation. I'm sure it won't take to long for after market orange hounds tooth or similar.
