Well, we were right when we guessed it would beat the CTS-V... Any guesses what the final horsepower "at the brochure" will be?

Which one will be heavier, V or the ZL1?

With the next M5 having 560hp and GT500 rumored to be around 600, the LSA will probably see a bump in power in both the CTS-V and ZL1.

Re: Rumor: SAE testing complete, numbers "north of 570 HP"

The 500 is just a model designation, it doesn't signify the power. The original GT500 from the 60s wasn't putting out 500hp.

most of the time the number does signify the HP rating....for example: Mitsubishi 3000GT had 3000 HP..........
 just kidding... i know better.......
it only had 2000 HP:lol:

I think the Mazda RX8 would be another one of those on the spot from the factory ratings but I think they name by the amount of torque instead of hp. RX8 makes about 8-9 ft lb's right?

Actually it was 8 N-m which is about 6 lb-ft

The 3000GT was for 3000 Watts of power (about 4 hp)
