Now we need 2SS prices as well as RS prices. Hoping 2SS is less than $2K and RS is less than $700.

MY GUESS ONLY, keep hoping. More like $3600 for the two IMO.

2SS/RS = 30,995 base

+2SS stuff-> heated leather seats (1100) +stereo upgrade w/steering wheel controls (500- wish I could radio delete...) + 4-gauge cluster (200) +PDIM/USB/Bluetooth (300) + power heated mirrors (300) = $2400

+RS stuff-> + HID (800) + colored RDM (300) + 20" rims (0-already included) + unique tail lamps (100) + different badging (0)
= $1200

Total 2SS/RS-> $ 34,595 **MY GUESS**

There's actually a dealer in Vancouver promising msrp AND... He'll fly me from Terrace to Vancouver, pay my hotel and transport to the dealership to pick up the car...

In case anyone is interested in price comparasons:

The Camaro SS is $30,995.

The Challenger R/T starts at $30,990.
The Mustang GT starts at $26,425

The V6 Camaro starts at $22,995.

The Challenger SE starts at $21,995.
The Mustang V6 starts at $19,735

If there was a Z28, it would be almost 100% certain it would be priced in the same ballpark as the Shelby GT500 and the SRT8.

The Challenger SRT8 starts at $42,390.
Shelby GT500 starts at $42,685

yea, and thats what is scary, is its almost 4k more for a v8 camaro than a v8 stang.. thas a bit more than i'd of hoped.. looks like i'll have to shop for used again.. ;(

I'm going to wait for GMS, MSRP is too high for the V8 IMO. 2SS the way I want it (RS, auto) is $3300 more than a fully loaded G8 GT, granted it has a few more goodies, but not $3300 worth.

I guess they are hoping the 300hp hi-po V6 will cover this market. I would say V8’s are not the most popular items to the mainstream public these days. I’m also assuming that GM expects the “enthusiast” crowd to buy the V8 regardless.

I’m not buying the V8. But my car plans have changed recently.
If I change jobs I may get a work truck as my daily driver. If this happens I’m going to get more extreme on my ’02 set up once I have it paid off in two years. If all this holds up, I plan to buy a 2010 2LT V6 RS as a fun daily driver/weekend car and leave my '02 to the track.
