Hello, Well I'm 17 right now (Turn 18 November)and I'm currently driving a honda accord 2004 my dad purchased for me to practice driving. I plan on getting my Camaro when I'm 18 during my senior year I will be trading in my honda accord as a downpayment also my dad will be co-signing so I qualify for a cheaper payment since he has pretty good credit. My dad isn't really set on getting it since he thinks American cars are unreliable he prefers japanese cars but he said I'll be 18 so it's on me. My question is how long would this car last me if I take good care of it because I don't want to get it and it last me like 4 years and it be a waste. Please feel free to comment and post your opinions

17 and buying a camaro SS, NICE.

Well, I own an 02 Z28 that i bought new. I have over 82k on it. Very little problems. My major issues were:

both power window motors died. i fixed them myself for under $100.
flasher
rear hatch strut supports, i have replaced.
1 battery, of course.
the hose that connects to the pvc valve split and generated a check engine light, about $1
replaced both serpentine belts

Overall very little problems. i do have a very minor coolant leak smell, no drips just can smell it once and a while outside the car. still has original brakes

The insurance will be steep, but not for me its the same as my truck.

Might want to look into this before getting your hopes up about an SS. When I was 17 I want about to buy a 1995 Firehawk then I found out that insurance would be $475 a month.

All cars have there fair share of problems some more than others
however there is nothing like American V8 performance
I don't know way so many people choose foreign cars over American cars ?? You don't see that in the truck market !!!

Ordered my 99 SS vert M6 when I was 17 got it when I was 18 ...21k miles running strong lol

had 309k miles on my 8.1 gas truck 02 2500 crew cab ... only changed brake pads and fuel pumps it got 8mpg
